Meet the Winemaker Lunch

On Sunday 15th February we welcome Vincent Marie of Domaine No Control to Cardiff for a leisurely lunch at Ogof.

Vincent Marie farms six hectares of vines in the north of the Puy de Dôme. Having learnt his trade working in Alsace, under the stewardship of Patrick Meyer and Bruno Schueller, he took his craft to the volcanic soils of the Auvergne, with old vines of Gamay d'Auvergne, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and some vines he planted himself of Sylvaner, Gewürztraminer & Sauvignon Blanc. Pure, perfumed and mineral, his wines bring life to any glass, and we can’t wait to introduce Vincent Marie's wines over lunch.

The lunch includes a three-course set menu priced at £35, exclusive of wine and service. Ogof’s Head Chef Alex Vines has devised a menu based on rustic French cooking tailored to British ingredients. A large selection of No Control wines spanning multiple vintages will be available by the glass and bottle, with Vincent Marie on hand to share the story behind what is in your glass, before he heads to the Principality stadium to watch Wales beat France in the rugby ; )

As the rugby kicks off at 3.10pm, lunch will be served in one sitting from 12 - 2pm. Tables can be booked at 12pm for 1 or 2 people. Feel free to purchase multiple slots if you would like a larger group. Guests will be seated on communal tables. Please note in the comments when you book if you would like to be seated with any other guests.

Tickets can be purchased via the calendar below.. As this is a set menu, please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements when making the booking.      

For those who can't make the lunch, we'll be hosting Vincent Marie for an informal tasting at the bar from 6pm on Saturday 14th February. This is open to everyone, so please pop in. All of his wines will be available to purchase to take away from our wine shop.
